VETERANS FAMILY ALLIANCE

With Help There’s Hope

Mission

To provide a clear path of support from government and community agencies that could assist families of returning, or already discharged, service members who may be experiencing emotional/physical difficulties during their transition from military service.

As the veteran works through the transition of going from active military service to the civilian life, there may be hurdles to cross, understanding the process, accepting new routines, medical treatment processes to understand, re-entering the job market, dealing with trauma are just a few. Family members often find themselves involved and experiencing their own transition process.  It is the mission of VFA to help family members understand the process with support, guidance and available resources.

"In Addition To All This, Take up the shield of faith"

Purpose

VFA is a ‘family to family’ support system approach, with the purpose to assist families of military veterans, as they progress through the transitional process.   It is especially helpful for families to understand that “trauma” issues may develop for the transitioning soldiers in a variety of ways.

"Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"

- 1 Timothy 5:8

Help

You are not alone in this, and you will have the support and encouragement moving forward through the process that is very important and needed. “You can have all the medicine to treat the illness but without the support and people to hold you up it will be a lot harder”. The support groups, service organizations and educational sources will be made available to you to seek the help and assistance that YOU need as a family to understand what your PLACE is and how you can help YOURSELF first.
